SHOW SYNOPSIS

Drama: Adapted By Stephen D. Farruggia Seraphim Theatre tradition brings you this classic Christmas tale by Charles Dickens to life for its 10th consecutive year. This original theatrical adaptation brings the story back to its source material in the honor of keeping the Dickens literary classic intact. It dramatically emphasizes not only the true meaning of the season, but also the profound importance of a life rich in love, compassion and hope. On the eve of Christmas, Ebenezer Scrooge finds himself given one last chance at redemption from a life filled with regret, greed and a closed heart. The dramatic journey through his painful life brings Scrooge face to face with the truth of himself and moments he would rather forget. Ebenezer Scrooge is shown that in the end, he is held accountable for his actions, and more so for precious moments in life he allowed to slip away.

This will be the 10 year anniversary of A Christmas Carol being preformed at Seraphim Theatre!

MEET THE DIRECTOR

LANAYA YOUNG

A veteran actress of 10 years, Lanaya’s experiences and passion for storytelling will serve her well as she prepares to take on the classic Seraphim staple, A Christmas Carol, in her directorial debut. While you may recognize her from previous performances with the Black Hills State University Theater Dept. and the Matthew’s Opera House in Spearfish, Lanaya has found her new home on the Seraphim stage since joining the cast of 2021’s A Christmas Carol - her first performance after a 2 year hiatus from acting and her first show ever with this esteemed theater company. Since then, she has continued to hone her skills both on and off the stage, and cannot wait to see what new and exciting opportunities are in store for this year and beyond! Lanaya would like to thank the Seraphim community for providing her a creative outlet and a second home, her boyfriend Chris Wheeler for his continued love and support, and her family for always believing in her and pushing her to follow her passions.
